Night Guards

What causes clenching and grinding?

Teeth grinding can be caused by stress and anxiety and sometimes from sleep disorders or an abnormal bite. Many times patients are grinding at nighttime and are unaware.

Should a night guard be hard or soft?

Night guards must be hard. Hard night guards allow the lower teeth to slide around freely when the lower jaw is in motion. The problem with soft night guards, commonly found at local drug stores, is that they exacerbate bruxism because the jaws naturally want to chew soft things.

How do we make a custom fit night guard?

The process is easy! We use our digital scanner to capture pictures of your upper and lower teeth and a bite. We send that digital file to the lab and they fabricate it specifically to you.
